It's been a very long time since I've posted so thought I would post my thoughts on the upcoming season.
I'm sure once the news was confirmed by the club that The Special One was returning to Stamford Bridge every Chelsea fan on the planet was overjoyed (I know that I was!). This is one of the main reasons that I cannot wait for the football season to begin! Don't get me wrong I'm not expecting the league in Jose's first season (2nd time around) but our title chances have certainly increased with him installed as Manager. Not only this, with Man City and Man United both changing managers I do believe we have a real opportunity to bring the title back to Stamford Bridge, more so than the last few seasons.
The signings that have been made by the club so far in the transfer window have been decent. Andre Schurrle we know is a very good player and with a fair amount of German caps to emphasise his quality. I believe he will be a success at the club and an excellent addition to the squad for the season ahead. Marko van Ginkel looks an exciting prospect and showed this during the under 21 championship but I do feel he should have a season out on loan as I don't feel he will benefit from sitting on the bench (if this is the case which it may not be). Mark Schwarzer will be excellent back up for Petr and if needed will do a good job when called into the side. I'm pleased that the club has brought in an experienced goalkeeper on a free rather than pay the millions for John Ruddy which appeared to be their Plan A.
I for one cannot wait for the new season to begin and I'm excited to see how the coming season is going to pan out for Chelsea
